We had "The Ferryboat Entertainers" Giving us an evening titled Downstairs & Upstairs. They all dressed up for the first part as the Downstairs staff. With the weather as it was, a wild and wet evening, it was nice to have so large an audience come out and fill the Church and take part in what was a superb evening. Alison welcomed us all and handed over to their compere Joe May, who was just well enough to do his stuff as he had been very poorly.

This was the best part, as the choruses of the songs were put up on the screen and we were all invited to join in on the second chorus. So that very soon it had the audience joining lustily in the singing. By the tea break, it was welcomed. Our thanks to the ladies helping with refreshments, Betty Begbie the accompanist and "The Ferryboat Entertainers" must have also needed this break.

The next part it was the Toff's from Upstairs, dressed in their fine apparel. Then on the next break the raffle was drawn. Before the Entertainers dressed for Christmas both Downstairs and Upstairs, lastly singing a comedy version of the 12 days of Christmas, sadly they didn't have 12 to sing their separate parts. Was it in the script? But it ended up with Betty giving them what for, when it didn't go a smoothly as it could have, much to the amusement of all!

It was a very happy crowd that left. So a very big "thank you" to "The Ferryboat Entertainers", who raised ?209 for our Church funds and made a great evening's entertainment.
